… but with a cool accent… like a British one. Ah… that would’ve been cool… Ry should’ve had a British accent so Randie could say “Why are you talking like that?”
Randie is very much Ryan’s muse. For years, he’s kept a secret story about a down on her luck artist living in a touristy seaside community. Randie’s muse, one could say, was the “touristy seaside community”… and now that she might be leaving it… what will she do?
Ryan DOES look good, don’t he… at least in Randie’s dreams. Ryan’s father was a Marine. From time to time, in “Squid Row”, Ryan would wear a USMC sweatshirt, a gift from his parents. The herald on the shield… The Knights Templar have always fascinated me. The knights would protect pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land… coming to aid and rescue at times. This sort of plays into the scene… Ryan, Randie’s knight in shining armor… coming to the aid and rescue… the military clothing that straddles Robin Hood and woodland soldier in a modern way. It all sort of ties in. The irony being, of course, that Ryan couldn’t harm anyone… he’s a poet and a lover of words… the least likely to wield a sword, which you’ll note is missing from the situation… something else is… well, read the next toon.
Ryan to the rescue!!
My wife tells me she sometimes has dreams where I show up and save her from whatever is bothering her. I find it VERY flattering.
You are the hero of another person’s dreams… that is a lovely place to be… in another’s heart.
Well yeah! We all want to be Errol Flynn, Indiana Jones and Superman rolled into one. Even me!

Ryan: Randie’s dream guy.
It sort of begs the question… what role does Randie play in RYAN’S dreams… Hmm… cashless waif at a coffee shop? oH, wait… been there, done that.
You’re the author of course, but I think she would play the part of muse, inspiration at the lowest of moments.

I have to say, Ryan wears the ‘military surplus scruffy’ look VERY well! Any specific meaning to the herald on the shield?

I had noted the Templar-based herald, hence me asking, lol. They were an interesting bunch, all in all.
I like Ryan’s slingshot. He’s a little Dennis the Menace.
