Chapter: Longing and Other Inconveniences
Location: Cypress City, the apartment
If I owned a Vespa, I would most certainly join a Vespa/Scooter Club!
And here’s something funny… So I found this website… a blog about traveling… written by a fella named Ryan! Too funny, yah? The photo (of the road to Big Sur) used in today’s comic (behind the Vespids) is credited to him (Ryan Moore). Um… I did do some Photoshop to it.
So… Check out Ryan’s excellent website and travel blog: walkingfarfromhome.com.
ps. Ryan Moore is passionate about coffee, too! The world is a funny place.
DESTINY!!!
Joe… Randie’s Vespid dreaming is one of those things… it is said that you naturally become what you think about… any minute now, Randie is going to turn into a Vespid.
Keep voting! Randi and Ryan are at 476! Please help them get past 400!
We only need a few votes at Top Web Comics! VOTE!!!
Yes, Please! At one point, we were down in the 320’s … we seemed to have crept up (or down, as the case may be). Please vote, y’all!
Ah, but it wouldn’t be pink, would it, now?
Randie would prefer it NOT be pink. Her favorite color is green. A pleasant teal green, as shown, would certainly be acceptable.
Just remember, a new paint job costs extra…
How to change the color of a Vespid without painting it? Cover it in stickers!
Do you know if he’s a Squidee, Brig? Maybe send him an email and a Coffee Tip!
I spoke to Ryan… and he was not a Squidee at the time… who knows now? I asked his permission to use the bottom photo. Randie’s coffee tips? 1. Don’t run out of coffee. 2. If you run out of coffee, you’re doing it wrong.
I can’t say that I would mind owning one of those myself, sadly being next to homeless it will be a long time before I could ever afford one.
Gramy… good to see you back. Where are you living these days? And Vespas aren’t cheap. I would love to have a lovingly restored Vespid… from the classic stylings of the 60’s or 70’s.
My hubby and I are down in Oregon staying with the in-laws till we can find a way to get back on our feet. In the mean time I have been dealing with a slew of health issues that frankly have left me with next to no energy. I became so anemic recently that my doctor thought I needed a blood transfusion. I may be dealing with the pink ribbon issue as well, I find out more about that on Thursday. I will also most likely be having a partial hysterectomy in the very near future… My body is showing just what can happen when you can’t afford to see a doctor for over 10 years and you are in your mid to late 40’s.
Like an old model car that hasn’t been very well cared for, I’m falling apart at the seams. :/
Gramy… I’m sorry to hear that… at least you have family around. Perhaps that’s the silver lining… you are surrounded by family. I am finding my 40’s to be less fun-healthwise… I will hold good thoughts for you on diagnosis. Keep your chin up, girl. There are a lot of people out there that refurbish old cars.
Having a crippling fear of motorized movement under my own control, I can safely say I’ll be burning shoe leather for life if I can help it. Although there are walking groups in my area. So I definitely can see why Randie is excited about the social aspects of owning your own mobility assist.
In her little daydream, Ryan doesn’t look quite as happy as Randie on the vespid……… have they ever been out cruising I wonder, or is she just intuiting that he’d be a little more reserved?
Trev, I, too, am wary… which is why I never learned to ride a skateboard (although I roller skated… hmmm)…. anyhow… my Gram planted things in my head… she was a nurse and saw all the motorcyclists come into the hospital.
Anyhow… Ryan HAS indeed been a passenger before… look here:

Did Randi ever get her license?
Randie was hoping that nobody would notice that… She hasn’t …
Life imitating art, imitating Life….
indeed… it’s a big ol’ spiral.
