Chapter: Longing and Other Inconveniences
Location: Cypress City, the apartment
My dad used to say that “timing is everything.” There is a time for everything… some times are better than others to ask for a conversation. Right now, the time is for hugging and drinking cider and relishing the reappearance of one’s loved one.
Here’s a Squid Row toon concerning timing:

And so two are one, and maybe six are three, too.
Ha… If Ryan could see what goes on in Randie’s head… There was a Squid toon about that…
Oh, man. We’ve all been there….having something to say, but not wanting to mess up a lovely moment by saying it.
I’m glad Randie is going with the moment for now.
It’s an ongoing struggle for some of us “sharers/expressionists/blurters” to keep it inside.
Besides, as much as Randie wants a Vespid, Ryan will always come first for her. You can be torn or conflicted, just so long as your priorities put the right thing first!
Randie is learning, ain’t she? Being in a loving relationship is a constant lesson… in how to work together, how to be kind to one another, how to lift one another up… etc.
There’s some guano of truth coming from Goth Bat-Head Randie! What, did everyone think she was supposed to be the ‘bad’ one?
Dada… Of course you’d side with the Goth chick!
As someone who wears all his feelings, thoughts, and musings not just on his sleeve, but printed in bold neon across his chest (conversations with me probably get weird at times….), I’d have at least mentioned ‘Yeah, there’s something I wanted to talk about, but we can get to that later’. Of course I’m also the kind of guy who spends a conversation randomly bringing up topics like Robin Hood lore and wondering how food grown on mars would taste different.
I hear ya. I definitely in that category. This is another reason I carry a sketchbook… it’s a place where all the stuff that ought to stay in my mouth can go. Feelings, toxic thoughts, and brain malware (as well as all the happy things)… they all go in there… visual, wordy-words, scribbles… It’s a big book of Bridgett’s Brain. Beats drawing it out on shirts.
