“It’s hammer time!” … Yes, the universal good of cookies is being shown here… the power to quell unreasonable fears and lighten the mood …. THAT is the power of Snickerdoodles.
Cookies are always a good start to any situation. Also, I like everything about Enid in the last panel….. she reminds me of a friend I have who is interested in EVERYTHING about people. Every stupid thought, problem, idea, rambling incoherent stream of words, or outburst is fascinating to her and she wears almost exactly that expression SO often! Let’s hope the power of a good listener is enough to shake this teensy problem of Randie’s!
And Enid is an Art Therapist. She is a listener and a guider by profession. Some people are born to do what they do. Enid has a natural ability … at making cookies… which, as you have pointed out, are always a good start to any situation. It’s like handing a teddy bear to a scared child (not unlike what’s happening here).
Enid – and cookies! – to the rescue. Wow… this gnomophobia is real and really hitting Randie hard. It’s going to be difficult to find humor in this from here on out. But we’ll see.
Enid’s cookies have the power to dispel panic and imbue the world with well being. But I bet it’s a while before Randie puts down her hammer.

Who’s the “Stan” that’s the name on Spill’s shirt?
Ooo… a little mystery. Judy noticed that, too. Is there a Stan? or was this simply a “bought at Goodwill” secondhand situation? Mmm. No telling.

No-no… humor still. I assure you that humor exists, even in the broken places. Especially in the broken places.
