Tell Me How You REALLY Feel

Randie worked herself up for nothing. But how easy would it have been just to have given Rye a quick call beforehand… ? Lesson possibly learned.

Sometimes it’s all about the timing!
Yes, I think that timing is everything. And humor is the great “make-it-okay”-er. The power of humor is amazing. And laughing makes it all good.
Yeah, Randie blue away Ryan’s surprise, but Ryan “faced” Randie’s news pretty well anyway.
Wha-Wha! But nicely said! hahahaha.
After a while, the spouse often starts complaining when they don’t shave…
Is this something you have experience in?
Nah. I live alone and like it.
Stop worrying about what other people think about your body!
My thought exactly DadaHyena! Its her hair, why should she be afraid because she didn’t consult him first? This blue hair “oh no will he hate me cause I changed my hair without his permission”story line gave me the weird vibes…glad its over.
Dada & Heather… Some backstory from Squid Row. Randie was an overweight teen (draw what you know)… and obsessing over how she looks is rather ingrained. It’s not a good habit… but it’s there. She’s also got a Catholic background (again, draw what ya know). One thing Catholics seem to do is guilt… and also not talk about things. I mean to offend no one on this… it’s just what I grew up with. AHEM… what Randie grew up with.
The underlying story here is… Randie is learning how to be in a marriage-y relationship. She’s struggling with independence and co-dependence and being part of a unit. Artists are funny creatures.
*I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy the story, Heather.
Thanks for the reply Brig. I guess I probably identified too much with it..I had two moms and one of my mom’s was super co-dependent and the other was a raging alcoholic…it took a long time for mom one to finally be able to leave mom two. Some of the things they’d end up tussling about were ridiculous, ie one doing something with their own body/hair ect without consulting the other first.
But no worries, I’m a faithful reader…and eventually kittens happen 😀 lol
You are free to feel anyway you want about any particular series of stories, Heather. You have always been a kind commenter and a valued Squiddie! Please, don’t shy away from commenting. Thank you for your reply. I can see why the story touched a nerve.
Mutually Assured Confusion. Well, hey, sometimes it’s all about learning what does and doesn’t bother your significant other. Also Ryan looks WAY younger without the beard, as most guys tend to. Either way I kinda liked this curve in the story because it’s nice to see I’m not the only one that occasionally flips my lid over silly things I do! I recently had to trim an inch off my ponytail just to even it out and clear up the split ends, and man…. I actually got way more commentary than I thought I would. Talk about paranoia fuel for next time I do something!
Yes, I feel that Rye Bread looks much younger without the whiskers. And hair is such a funny thing. It is a form of individualism… and expression. And when you change it, people notice.
