RN… well, technically, Jimmy never asked Randie to make his gnomes… he asked his pal, Spill… and Spill subcontracted due to the workload.
Do you think Spill will ask Randie to help on the next project? Hmmm…. Randie is terrified of gnomes and she hates JC, …
It’s too late, Pete… Randie’s in a very dark place. Anger, fear… Max… Jimmy… oh, she’s gonna need some time in a warm bath… with some candles. Or something.
I had to laugh … well, I usually laugh when I read your comic, but I had to laugh again when I saw the big picture of the beret wearing Mr. Chow (in a target); then I scrolled down and see a beret wearing ‘Harold Tak’n it Easy’. With his high brow one-button-eye and snooty ascot.
I’m sure you weren’t trying to compare the two, but the juxtaposition was funny.
(And I was just kidding calling Harold snooty and high-brow … he’s always über-cool, he can’t help it.)
I’m glad, UB, that my comic brings you to chuckle. It is my sincere hope that THAT is one of the take-aways of reading this comic… Harold will be happy that he had some part of it, as well. He, by the way, LOVES his beret… and wears it often. He’s fond of the French… and he and I both have matching berets… how tres French of us. Harold takes no offense to the “high brow” comment. He send’s a hug and a chuckle.
I might be projecting people I’ve known onto your character, but he does remind me the type who are into success at any cost, and their formula for success is less about the art and more about promoting their art and especially themselves – which includes getting other people to do the actual (icky-poo paints!) work of turning their ideas into finished products.
In the brief time when I was concentrating on just being a writer, I had a certain ramora attached to me who wanted to be a writer at any cost. He once overheard me telling someone that I had written a short story that didn’t work like I intended and never would, and I was not going to offer it for sale. He asked if I would give it to him to try to sell as his own.
Aligning mental crosshairs is a good way to focus on what’s bothering you so you can deal with it. Doing what you want to do while doing so, not a good idea. Set your sights, then find a way to deal with things so you don’t end up being worse than the problem. This is my advice to Randi.
Also it’s okay to have emotions and even dislikes and hatreds, just always remember that you’re making a link from you to them by doing so.
If you can’t stand him, Randie, make him get someone else to make his gnomes.

No, Randie! DON’T be ‘drawn’ in by the DARK side of the Art Force!

Ah, yes…the Green Meanie of Envy, one of the seven deadly sins…watch out, Randie!
If there is to be a moral (or morals) to the eventual end of this story… perhaps “keeping your cool” and avoiding “the Green Meanies” would be thems.

Wow, that is an inspiring, low level of leeching.
Wow… I agree with Trev… Leeching for certain!

We don’t want to make links to negative things. So good advice there.
I think Randie needs to book some therapy sessions. I wonder what Enid is up to?
Making someone’s day only a phone call away, I dare suggest.
I think we have achieved a new terror for a certain character:
