This is the type of thing that causes too many people to panic. ‘What if its permanent?’ ‘What if I’m doing the wrong thing?’ ‘What is she’s faking to get out of stuff?’ Well, maybe not that last part.
Yes… doing the wrong thing and panic over assuming the worst. These things would terrify ME! Milking it to get out of doing stuff… nah… well, maybe a little.
High on the list of my Tiny Lady Veterinarian on why veterinary medicine is easier. People usually have infinite patience with the recovery of their pets but often get impatient with people. ‘She’s not working hard enough to get over this!’
Ah geez, it’s hard to tell who to worry about more in these situations. The injured party is always a concern, since they’re injured and may face permanent life changes. But the caretaker is always under a load of stress, emotionally, financially, and physically, and they can burn out and break down too. Times like these it’s great if you have supportive friends and family!
Yes, it’s concerning … for both parties. It’s stressing me out to WRITE this … having had some experience in this area. But support is key. You take on so much when you keep all the world on your shoulders.
I once had a concussion that put me out for about half a minute. I spent the next week more or less staring blankly at a wall. Anything else hurt too much. Thankfully my roommate was a dear and took care of everything for me.

Surround her with what she loves and is familiar to her. That eases the mind and let’s it concentrate on getting all better.
Easing the mind is really important right now… for both of them!
Just don’t get another assignment to San Diego or other parts…
Yah… no outta town trips, Rye Bread. No Sandy Eggo for you!
Yep.. Been there, done that. Ryan is doing the right thing.
You’ve been on the Ryan side?

Wow… that sounds really terrible! Your roommate deserved some sort of caregiving award. Glad you made it through your head injury! Sheesh!
