Getting into the City… The SFMOMA is quite a sight. I haven’t yet been to the new remodeled space… it looks like Randie beat me to it.

Giant Spider Alert! Panel Three!
Yes, indeed… lurking.
Spectacular job of Imposing Structure drawing, Brig! I almost feel bad for Randi that all she sees right now is the booze.
Hmmm… is this story line going to be the big “Jimmy” reveal? We’ve never actually seen his face yet, have we? Bits and parts of him, but never Jimmy himself.
Thanks… it is a BIG museum. Look closely at the comic… you might find Jimmy in there.
Pardon me while I wine…
Oh, there’s wine alright… and tasty morsels. Somewhere.
My theory of anything that starts you out with alcohol tends to be ‘They want you to be in a good mood and happy to say positive things, since having a buzz makes you both most often’. Speaking as someone who cannot, under any circumstances, drink alcohol I have noticed that a crowd that is drinking is always much more happy to rub someone’s ego than I am. Of course, I could just be a big ol’ jerk, too….. that’s probable!
The drink-ee poos usually get the crowd relaxed. There is that. It also keeps people around… like an anchor… and then the mingling happens. But the last thing you want is drunk people falling into the artwork… I am not exactly sure how a museum deals with that. Lots of security, I suppose.
Jimmy Chow’s ego needs no stroking.
That raises an interesting idea…… an interactive art show where they serve high-octane whiskey and EXPECT the place to get trashed, THEN declare it ‘Natural Spirit Art – The Released Action of Man made Visual!’. Any takers on how long before some really avante guarde location or artist tries something like this? I give it about fifteen years tops.
Sounds like a good performance art piece or a “Fluxist work of art”… hmmm… it could be pretty cool with some good filming… a reaction to today’s reality tv world. Yah, Trev… could absolutely work!
what a great view from YBGardens, one of my favorite (free) places in SF. Thanks, Brig, for taking me there on my coffee break (was wishing for some bloodsport – but I’ll take a trip to the City)
Aw… I’m so glad that you know the place… and enjoy my little representation! Smiles!
