Ryan is having a moment… such a romantic!
Are you surprised? Did you see their special day differently? Granted, this is just a tiny glimpse. I will tell you that you will see more… this is but the tip of the iceberg, as they say.
Squid Row History: Here’s Ryan’s daydream of “that special day.”
Awesome!
Thank you, Fun Mike. I had fun with this particular page.
We know that Ryan has seen Randie in the snoring/grunting mode. That we can know our beloveds with all their faults and still love them as ethereal, wondrous beings is part of the magic of love. Yay Ryan! yay, romantics!
Spoken like a true romantic.
Someday he’ll be there when that happens—and if their marriage can survive that it can survive anything.
Rob Now… Well, snoring, gaping mouths, drool, sleep talking… these are the things a marriage makes… and the sooner one can laugh and make light of them, the better.
I’m sure Ryan knows about Randie’s, ah, less elegant characteristics from the time she spent crashing in his apartment. It surprised me a bit that they didn’t get together then.
Ryan, when crashing at Randie’s, was getting over Emily. He’d fallen hard for Emily. Randie had taken some time adjusting to the fact that Ryan had a girlfriend, but she was not interested in romancing Ryan at that time.
Love is an odd and powerful reality. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ryan could look at his slumbering wife and without squinting see the bride he sought and married. Thirty-five awesome years after the ceremony, I know I can.
Love IS an odd and powerful thing! Love is a noun and a verb. It is a person and a feeling… it is a commandment and is desired. I’d also say it it most complicated and yet so simple. I’m glad you have 35 awesome years dealing with it.
Once again, beautiful page layout and even some great poses (namely “panel 2”; didja use photo reference?).
…and I totally expected a fart from ‘sleeping beauty’ Randie.
Thank you, Dada… I wanted that first glimpse into R&R’s wedding to be a bit magical…. thus all the “Doo-dahs” around the edges. And since R&R is a lot more realistically drawn, I am using more photo references… and even some of my own photos IN the toons (coming later) or photos I’ve asked for permission to use. I’m using tons of layers now… massively big files for my laptop to handle.
… Randie would blame the toot on Harold, for sure.
Oh wow, this is so adorable! :.)
Hi! Good to see you from across the pond! Thank you for the compliment. Randie was particularly adorable on their special day.
Randie wore a dress! Randie wore a dress!
Yes she did! And it’s the first time we’ve ever seen this! You KNOW she loves Rye Bread… because the dress thing wouldn’t have happened otherwise!
Nothing captures romance like “grunt.”
Yes, indeed… Randie is showing her finer qualities here.
