Pay Attention to Me-ow…

It was asked, some time ago, as to whether Ella would conversate (like Twinkie). I had to give it some thought… and here’s my answer.

Sorry, kitty, my brat cat has first dibs on chin scritchies.
Is your brat cat fat?
Nope, she is a skinny kitty, but LONG. She is my little miss longcat.
Aw… LML (Little Miss Longcat).
I swear, this was Tripod when she was a kitten. Going from one-of-many barn cats to the only kitten in a house of one was not precisely easy on her, and she was rather a needy little thing as a result. Even now that she is grown, she really doesn’t like to be far away from me.
Though Ella is being much more polite in her requests than Tripod was. I’ve never heard a sound that loud from a kitten that little before.
My Mousecat tend to do a maneuver… she throws herself on her back, paws in the air… very much like panel 2.
You’ve mentioned Tripod before… he sounds like a very special kitty.
It loses something when you can read their thoughts…
I suppose. Cats have a secret language all their own… don’t they? I love the cartoon short where the cat sits on a table next to a coffee mug. With little change in demeanor, he swipes at the cup, knocking it to the ground and says, “F&#@ that cup.”
Object of kitten’s attention says: Zzzzzzzzz…
How else can one resist?
There is no resistance. There is only “awwwwww” and petting.
Cats are always at their most affectionate when you’re trying to sleep. Once it’s clear that you’re finally wide-awake and ready to pay attention to them they give you the cold shoulder.
Cats…bah!
Indeed. Cats are EXPERTS at cold shoulder… and timing.
It took mine 4 months after I retired to get used to the fact that my wakie-wakie time was 7AM and no longer 5:30AM – and now it’s been a YEAR and 4 months and they sometimes still forget…
“Why has my cuteness not had an effect on you?” Well, sometimes when things are too cute they induce a case of ‘sugar shock’, also known as ‘squeee’-ing, which can in severe cases lead to comas.
That or sleep.
Squee-ing… yes, I am familiar… I squee a lot.
The sleeping part…This very morning, Mouse jumped up on something that fell over. It was 10 minutes until the alarm was to go off. Sigh… at least it wasn’t at 3am or something.
Better pet that kitty! Remember 5 of their 6 ends are sharp.
Oh… yes, there is that. Sharpies included with the cute at no extra charge.
