Panic time?

Sometimes you step back from a decision … and think… Oh, dear.
This toon makes me think of a 70’s song that I cannot place the artist or title… “…bluer than blue… sadder than sad…” I know somebody knows this song.

Well, now you’re going to have to change the top banner for a few weeks.
Ha! Yes, Pat… It had slipped my mind… but you are right… that is if she keeps the color… although, it’s kinda at a point of no return at this point.
“Blue on blue…heartache on heartache…”
All things blue… it’s funny how the color blue has so many associations. “Sacré Bleu” is a swear word in French… which translates to “Sacred Blue”… and there is a novel, by Christopher Moore, of the same name which deals with the term, the color, and French history.
Almost every swear in french is something sacred. Is it me or is that just kinda weird?
Ha… I suppose that by saying it you are committing a “word crime” against the church … a real sin… or something like that.
In German there are some phrases with blue, as well:
“blau sein” (lit. to be blue) means “to be drunk” (or high from other drugs, but mostly from alcohol).
“blau machen” (lit. to do blue) means that you are not going to work or school that day, even though you are not really ill.
Fascinating! To be blue is to be intoxicated. Interesting… and Doing blue is like playing hooky… (meaning not being where you are SUPPOSED to be).
Thanks for sharing.
That looks reallllly good on her. Darker than I thought it’d be, but quite nice. Also, dyejobs are ultimately temporary so she shouldn’t stress about it too much.
Picasso once said something that has always stuck with me… That if your painting doesn’t go wrong at some point, you’re not working on anything important. Or something like that… I cannot seem to find the quote now. That guy said a lot. Anyhow … all exciting and new things have an element of “holy mother of peanut butter” to them.
Ryan will support you, Randie.
AFTER ALL… BRIG MADE YOU DO IT!!
Better lock your coffee cupboard, Brig, or Ryan will be putting ink in there to stain your teeth black.
What an evil trick! Inky black teeth… nobody deserves that kind of mean! Gah! Writers.
“Bluer than blue, sadder than sad, you’re the only life this empty room has ever had.. ”
It was sung by Michael Johnson, and by yours truly at karaoke on many an occasion. One of my favorites!
How did I know that you’d know…!? Was I baiting you?
I dig the Blue Man Group panel! Don’t worry, Randie…… Blue is a calming colour. It will help people keep calm around you……. and maybe help keep the gnomes calm and passive……
It’s hard not to think of The Blue Man Group… I guess I sort of run the risk of infringing on some sort of trademarked copyright issue there… but it was either that or Smurfs and I know that I couldn’t use them! I do like me some Smurfs though… I collected them as a kid.
the song is bluer than blue by barry manilow
Did he do a version of that song? I know he sang “I Can’t Smile Without You.” And that 70’s anthem “Copacabana”… which is the song I think of when I think of Barry Manilow.
Michael Johnson recorded the original. Manilow and Regine Velasquez did covers of the song
Unless they’ve vastly improved the dyes, she’s going to regret that even more in about a month. Blue always fades to such an ugly color.
She’s gonna need to stay on top of it, if she’s gonna keep it. I dyed my hair white about a year ago… it was fun, and it looked cool when the roots grew in … but I cannot be bothered to keep up with the hassle of dying for upkeep. Meh.
Art historians would later refer to this as the beginning of Randie’s Blue Period.
A few years ago a rival game developer based a character on me, then wanted me to play the part of that character at trade conventions when the game was released. Aside from wearing a 112 lb suit of armor, I had to use a temporary dye on my hair to turn it white for the weekend. A good way to test a color to see if it works on you, except that it volumized my hair to insane proportions.
Oh! Have you pictures? I’m a visual person, I need to SEE this!
And YES… Randie is MOST familiar with Picasso’s blue period… as she loves the work of Picasso. I’m glad you put the two together. I, too, love Picasso’s blue period. His self-portrait with beard is one of my favorite paintings. It haunts me.
Will see if this link works here http://uncle-bilbo.deviantart.com/art/White-Knight-600401220 to my Deviant gallery, where you can find other strangeness such as my reluctant cosplay of the Avatar Korra.
Very nice… THAT is SOME armor! Thank you for the link! The hair is splendid, for sure!
Y’know, the color the Beatles used the most in their songs was “blue.” Y’know…it rhymes with true, and you, and knew, and a whole bunch of others…
Is that right? Visually I see them and their work as very red, orange and yellow…. except for the Blue Meanies, of course.
Gorgeous blue on that butterfly, BTW
Thank you, Rich. this one took a REALLY long time start to finish.
