Chapter: You Know What They Say About Chaos
Location: Cypress City, the apartment
Randie might be learning a lesson in couple hood economics…. and how to get on the naughty list for next year!
Now I don’t feel so bad going over budget on my coin collection.
I guess you’re on the naughty list, too, eh?
When it comes to desserts in the house, all is fair in love and war (…and if you eat them all, you may be at war with your love).
Uh oh… would you know something about this?
We have GOBS of chocolate in the house right now. See’s x2, French truffles, Belgian chocolates, Ghirardelli’s, more See’s, Trader Joe’s mints, various chocolate bars… if you run into trouble, Dada… we got you covered.
Randie’s spending habits can be very endearing… PROVIDED she continues to get better at staying in budget. You know, Randie’s probably not ready for instant fame and wheelbarrows of money from selling her painting.
All life is a learning experience. Randie is learning… Too, it takes effort for relationships to be successful… Ryan is practicing patience and love (and love is a verb… an action verb… we WORK at love… it doesn’t just show up).
And you are right Pete… she is gonna need more practice first.
This is why I do NOT have a credit card. If I can’t pay for it, I don’t need it right now. I would go NUTS with a credit card! Know thyself, and thy checkbook…..
I learned a valuable lesson on credit card debt early on. I got my first credit card straight out of high school. Mervyn’s gave me a credit card with a $300 limit… and once you get ONE, it’s like this little avalanche. I got all the department stores… then the Bank Visa… and then another… until by the time I was in my early 20s, I was in trouble. Tack on a car payment and I was swimming in debt. Honestly… my poor money managing skills caused a great deal of stress in my life. I am glad to say that THAT part of my life is over… and I am on the other side with 0 debt. BUT one hopes to learn by these sorts of things and then write about them in a comic strip.
I’m glad your experience has taught you how to manage things better. Too often it ends upmaking a mess and teaching nothing. Also, just realized, Randie has a grin for every occasion, doesn’t she?
