Chapter: You Know What They Say About Chaos
Location: Cypress City, the apartment
Ideas never seem to come at a convenient time (that’s why I carry a sketchbook)… and 4 am would qualify as an inconvenient time. How dedicated you are to that idea determines if you get up in the middle of the night to write it down.
The things we do for love.
10cc.
Indeed. 4am. It being Ryan, he coulda said let’s go out for a run. But the answer mighta been “I’ll pass.”
Sometimes early morning walks are the best… the earth is quiet and fresh while the false sun makes you think sunshine is in your future.
AND sunrises are full of optimism. You are right… quiet time is nice.
Yeah, I hear that. When an idea hits, life moves to the back seat. Eating, sleeping, job, everything.
An idea is the popcorn kernel stuck between your mind and your brain. And the longer you put off dealing with it, the more of an irritant it becomes.
Yah… it’s like that little bit of walnut stuck in the far reaches of your braces… just crammed in there… you wind up playing with it until you find a pokey thing to get it out!
I am a morning person. 4am? Sounds great!
Oh… I would have to say that 4am is too early for me… but 5:30 or 6… I do that. But man… you can get lots done when nobody else is awake.
Reminds me of my first idea that I had for my first editorial cartoon published in the university newspaper. Inspiration hit at about 2:00 am, I had to scribble it down on the oversized calendar they issued all of us in the dorm at the beginning of the year.
Whatever it takes, right?
