I would like to note, if he can’t explain the events of the past few days he is CERTAINLY never going to be a non-fiction writer! Let’s face it, real life is FAR stranger than fiction no matter who you are or what you believe…… stuff that would never work in a novel is the norm in reality.
Trev… you write what you know… and if Ryan cannot make sense of Faith, then he will write about not being able to make sense out of faith. I think that writers do stretch themselves… and this little episode is sure to be put in his novel about Randie.
I’m just a little surprised at his lack of general optimism, is all. Ryan seems like the type to whom bad things are dips between regular days, not the regular days themselves. Coming up a hill should be more familiar than sliding down a valley, I guess. Besides, to quote a good (deceased) friend of mine: “All things can be explained, just not always by me, which is explanation enough.”
Trev, good point. Life beats hell out of the craziest fiction. I know this, because I read a lot of fiction, and I still can’t believe the headlines.
Love, anyway.
Our expectations are shaped by a lifetime of experiences. This morning we watched a coyote chasing roadrunner. We agreed afterwards that we were waiting for something bad to happen to the coyote, like a falling anvil.
Hahahah… a sight to see, no doubt! After all, the Warner Brother cartoon writers had to have gotten their ideas from SOMEwhere! Art imitates life in all mediums! I do it all the time!
Ryan’s handwriting (above) is quite tidy compared to Randie’s scrawl… I purposely picked fonts that would be indicative of their personalities. I’m sure Ryan’s teachers only had praise for his penmanship. Randie… well….
Their guardian garden gnome is working overtime.
Blaspheme! Gnomes are the work of the devil!
Catholic ju-ju….weird, scary, but apparently powerful stuff.
My Grandmother’s foot and Saint Peregrine. That’s all I need say.

Mr. Shakespeare knew this all too well.

Y’know…that’s remarkably neat handwriting for a diary. (I had to start typing mine the other year when I realized I couldn’t read my own handwriting.)
RN… they say you can tell a lot about a person from their handwriting. What does this say about Ryan?
Compare to Randie’s…
Randie has VERY good handwriting for an artist!
