Chapter: You Know What They Say About Chaos
Location: Cypress City, Java Bob's
Ryan seems to be using a different method of inspiration… we’ll see if it works.
Ryan seems to be using a different method of inspiration… we’ll see if it works.
he seems to have gone from chronicling randi’s past to plotting her future. kind of symbolic.
But don’t think that the “secret novel” Ryan has been keeping all these years on Randie is done for… no sir! And yes, it is very symbolic.
Those who love procrastinators find all sorts of loving nudges to help them forward.
Spoken like somebody who knows… ahem!
Will a painting of laundry and unwashed dishes be appearing where Ryan sits? You know, to nudge him? LOL
Hahahahahahahah! Well, if we know our Randie, SHE’s the one deserving of a word portrait of the NOT doing the dishes!
This should be an interesting writing exercise. The oldest rule for writers is “write what you know.” There is a caution there as well, though, that Ryan had best pay heed to. Writers can easily separate character from model, but that doesn’t always work for the model (person) being characterized. It would be easy for Randie to see things in Ryan’s writing that exposes too much.
Tread lightly, Ryan!
Nice advice there for our writer pal. This is why his “secret Randie novel/writings” is still secret… oh, what would happen if….. ???
Ryan would have been wise to have revealed his Randie novel to her BEFORE they got married. But then, where would the future story of Randie discovering it come from?
Just remember, Brig: If you ever decide to go to that story line, you have to pay for Ryan’s motel room while Randie sorts things out! 😉
When ‘Hint, Wink, and Nudge’ fails, bring out the carefully and lovingly applied boot to prod people forward. What it sounds like Randie needs is an agent. I know a few people like that…… very talented, clueless about how to exploit their own talent.
Brig,
I told you Ryan should have burned that novel before the wedding. If Randie ever discovers it, well I suspect it would be like Rye Bread forgetting the first wedding anniversary. Maybe worse.
