Eventually… could mean a very long time… enough time to work up an appetite for shopping.

I, a non-coffee-drinker, have always been somewhat mystified by the reported need for the coffee shops to know your name. In my fast-food-counter days, the customers waited and we remembered who they were. Are things that busy nowadays?
In answer, yes. If it’s not busy… no need to ask for your name… coffee’s coming right up. But I’ve seen lines nearly out the door at Starbuck’s where your complicated espresso drink needs a name because you are one of many.
Robert,
Coffee shop have a practical need to know your name: So they can call it out when your order is ready. This avoids relying on people who still need their coffee to remember only their own name and not some random number on the receipt.
This has in turn led to becoming part of the coffee culture, where are seeing to your “medical need” of getting coffee. They are friendly even while understanding you might still be sleepy/grumpy/stuck in idle.
Myself, I love coffee. But I’m one of The Accursed – a cheerful morning person. I love coffee, but don’t NEED. And I like… COFFEE. Black and basic. So I don’t frequent coffee shops.
Well geez, Randie, you could have got her name and maybe run her a coffee at work, that’d have been a good start to a friendship!
Looking good, Brig!! I like the new style and easiness….
