I think that Christmas lite isn’t really a bad thing. It makes you appreciate things more. It forces you to be creative. Randie is used to having a kind of meager holiday… so this isn’t really new territory for her.
Maybe not this year. Saturday was National Adoption Day and we came in just under the wire. As strange as this may sound, we now have a new oldest kid (by 4 months) So this will be a first Christmas. Which, I might point out, is also my birthday. And my nephew’s birthday. And Humphrey Bogart. And Sir Issac Newton. You are known by the company you keep, what?
WELL Happy Christmas Birthday to you! … a tad early. But every year, Christmas rushes in… a shame about the combined presents though. Happy new person! on your end. Yay!
If Jimmy Chow skips out on paying, there will be two very angry ladies after him. What’s that old saying about hell hath no fury?
And he might want to be worried about the gnomes, too. If I recall correctly, the Fae creatures tend to be very down on not keeping your word…and he has an army of them coming in.
Like Randie needs another reason to despise Jimmy. I’m sure she’ll blame him… and the gnomes. Time to grab your hammer, Randie. No payment? No problem… take back the inventory… with the aid of a smash-y device. (Randie would only do this to protect herself, never out of mean-ness).
Yeah, we’re going really lite on the presents this year, too. Doesn’t detract from the joy, however.
Having less means you rely on creativity more. You can do interesting things with what you HAVE… or can obtain cheaply.
And Joy is a way.
No day planner!!! Gasp!!! How will Randie manage? For my wife and I, Christmas Lite means the money we would have spent on presents for each other goes to helping our local food bank and making care bags for the homeless.
She doesn’t manage… very well. For years, all of her friends (including Ryan) have given her a planner in hopes that it would help her “get it together”… but you have to USE it in order for it to be useful.
I think your “Christmas Lite” is Christmas-ful!
