Business

We all have “our business.” As an artist, Randie surrounds herself with the business of art… her tools and schedules… and such.
Ella’s business is much more simple. Watch birds, play with spiders, sit on Randie’s art. And, yah… mangling plants (in case you missed that.)
Well, every day can’t be interesting…
Yah… beating up on plants and spiders … BORE-ring.
Yah… doing kitty-business on top of all the other stuff.
Hopefully in the kitty-business box. 😉
Kitty cat business MUST ALWAYS be conducted in the box. A Box. The box. Just a box.
Beautiful artwork; I like how your backgrounds are hand-drawn again and have that atmospheric coloring effect (fading out into the distance). It really adds a lot!
Thank ye, Dada… one of the goals of R&R , for me, was to experiment more… to push myself to do different things. The format and the Photoshopping allows me to manipulate stuff. I’m glad you like the goings on… technically speaking.
We successfully taught Chloe to not eat the houseplants; she’s very good at learning what is and is not ok. Of course she does have the freedom of outside during the day – catching geckos is her great skill (sometimes she even keeps them alive and doesn’t eat them!)
Ian… did you use the ol’ squirt gun method of training? I tried this method and it did not work on our cat, Mouse. Said Mouse hates it when you blow on her. Likes water, hates air. Whatever. Said cat also is a skilled hunter. I won’t go into that, however. I will say that I use her skills when writing about Twinkie.
The last cat I lived around spent all day hunting mosquitoes. A never-ending supply of prey waited for that fuzzball. And by the end of the day when her owner came home there’d usually just be a floor covered in dead bugs. Kitty business is serious stuff sometimes! Funny thing is I don’t know that I ever saw the cat actually awake…….
Ha! Cat’s are champion nappers… and night creatures. Mouse has taken to sleeping in the garden during the day… in the dirt. There’s this gopher that just moved in… and one must be wary of such neighbors. Mosquitoes are a fine prey, by the way. No reason to leave any of them alive.
Oh, I don’t like gophers. Destructive little things. And I couldn’t agree more, the more dead mosquitoes the better! The part I find funny is….. I’M a night creature! I wake up at 2 PM most days and crash at about 7 AM, and I STILL never saw kitty awake (said cat’s name was Marple, by the way….. I had to go check)
Marple? A cat-owning mystery fan? Anyhow… Are you sure YOU’RE not part cat?
I wish! Then I could exercise by stretching and make my own vitamin C from protein! And yeah, the cat was absolutely named after Miss Marple. The previous cat had been Agatha and the one they recently got I just found out was named Poirot. I sense a trend……
Something happened last night that I thought Randie would like, a bit like that business of finding plastic flamingos in the yard. Late, late last night I saw strange little lights outside the dining room windows. When I went out to look, I found that they were dragonflies. No, no one has bred a cross between dragonflies and fireflies. They were clear plastic fireflies with tiny solar cells and light sensors that run a small LED light that slowly changes from blue to green, violet, red and back again. Someone had been able to sneak in and position the little things at various points around the pool. They just impressed me as something Randie would love.
You got “fireflied”? Ha… that IS fun! It would be weird to look out and see little glowing orbs, eyes, or whatnot… and it would definitely concern Randie, who would probably concoct a scary scenario of glowing-eyed gnomes who were coming to get her!
