I’m reminded of the guardian angel from ‘Rose is Rose’, who will sometimes let something bad happen to Pascalle to prevent something *worse* from happening: like the time he had Pascalle come down with a summer cold to keep him in the house and away from an old tree the day lightning hit it to remove a dangerous dead branch.
Is that right? I don’t read “Rose is Rose”… I did just finish Richard Thompson’s “Richard’s Poor Almanac”… a very good read… not a daily comic, but I am about to start “Cul-de-sac.”
