Bloggy Mindset

It really does sound like a dream… traveling around to all the artsy places… drawing and painting whilst journeying, and somehow, it’s considered work?
For those of you who are new to this comic, meet Spill, one of Randie’s artist pals. Wanna get to know her better? Here’s a few links to some story lines on Squid Row…

But now the world NEEEEEEEDS this blog!
I was thinking of actually putting together a “fake-not fake” blog… a la R&R… it is not on the burner at the present time… but it is in the kitchen. I’m glad you like the idea.
Arts-y, Writer-y, Bookworm-y, sketch-y, photograph-y is the best kind of art.
I think so, too. All things beautiful, full of life, and fun to look at.
Really nice job with the backgrounds, Brig. In regards to panel 4, I tell comic artists all the time that if you’re going to use fumetti with your drawings make sure you integrate it well (otherwise it just looks like flat cartoon characters standing in front of a glossy Polaroid), and you’ve done a fine job of it here.
The new series is focusing a lot on texture, which gives it a very unique look. Like a canvas or watercolor paper…hey, perhaps that’s the whole idea with the theme of the comic?
…although I’d still recommend losing the “halo” around the characters’ outlines in panel 4. Just a suggestion.
Thanks, Dada… I am trying all kinds of new stuff… like them artists do… stuff to make it interesting not only for readers (such as you-self)… but for me! I’ve been working with photos more and more for a different effect. And thank you for the suggestion… I felt that Randie needed a bit of a halo to set her apart from the background… she seemed to get a little lost in it. So you think it looks funny? Hmmm… I wonder what I could do differently then.
Try using highlights ON the characters instead of AROUND them. It will look more natural.
Excellent suggestion. THank you… I will do this. We like au naturelle.
Personally, I like reading about traveling a heck of a lot more than doing it. Which means I would absolutely check out this kind of blog. What can I say? I’m way too negative to enjoy travel, I miss a lot of impressive things by zeroing in on the bad stuff. It’s a rather glaring character flaw, but oddly makes me very popular at work.
I think that reading about traveling, studying the places you wish to travel, and making plans is as much fun as the travel itself. It’s the learning, anticipating and such that is just so much fun… When you are actually on the road, it’s sometimes difficult to relax and take it all in… there’s this thing and that thing we need to see and do… it can be rather stressful.
I will continue to search for ways to put Ryan and Randie’s blog together in some fashion.
I’m a terrible person: My brain defaulted to the wrong meaning of “tripping” in panel 4… >.<
Yah, Randie likes using words in odd ways.
THAT’S SPILL? You are uglifying your old characters.
I can tell that you aren’t really taking to the new comic.
I don’t agree with your word choice… “uglifying” is an ugly word. All the characters look different; I’m sorry that you don’t like the new style.
